The dramatic flood, which came upon our country overnight in August 2007, just one day before the Convoy, was a big challenge for our organization. Nevertheless we spent a successful event, as the weather was favourable and we enjoyed a Sunday with plenty of sunshine.
Not only did we see historic technology with numerous rare and unusual vehicles, but also a piece of realistic army history. For three days the field-kitchen and bakery produced tasty meals and pastries. All Swiss-produced MOWAG prototypes displayed their pioneering technology and the historic Dragoon Squadron 72 presented itself in a camp with 40 horses.
Special attraction: Expertly commented demonstration of all Swiss tanks ever in operation.
There was a strong interest in vehicles from the former Eastern Bloc. The organizers had succeeded in procuring a Russian T-55 tank – a sensation! This former adversary of the ‘Centurion’ in the Cold War could also be admired on the terrain.
